A portable braking system won't drain the battery in your 2021 Jeep Gladiator so long as you go with a specific system:
- Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39524
The Brake Buddy Select 3 does plug into your Gladiator's 12 volt outlet, however this system is different than others because it comes with a 15 amp charger that will run to the 6-way wiring connector at the front of your Jeep, and when it is plugged into your motorhome's connector, it will constantly... view full answer...
From the attached image, you have what looks to be an SAE solar plug, a DC connector. This is most likely connected to your battery bank, I suggest you trace the wires.
If this does not go through a charge controller, you will need to have one in addition to the solar panels. I recommend the 200 Watt Go Power Portable Solar Panel with Digital Solar Controller, # 34282610. This portable solar charging system lets you place the solar panel where you need it for maximum sunlight. The... view full answer...
There's a lot here, so let's go ahead and take these one by one, yes you can still use a plug-in portable solar kit, and as far as lithium batteries, their cost can be justified, but it's hard to give a blanket statement about worth. Their value comes from the fact that you get more life out of them per use, and they last longer. For example, let's take the Go Power AGM RV Battery - 100 Amp Hour # 34276285 vs. the Go Power Lithium RV Battery - 100 Amp Hour # 34282738.
The AGM battery can... view full answer...
I reached out to Go Power, who supplies most of our solar equipment, and they said a new solar controller is not necessarily needed for a 200 amp hour lithium battery.
They said newer controllers should have a lithium profile charging option, but even if it does not, older controllers with the AGM profile will still charge the battery, but it may not top it off. So if your current controller has a lithium profile you are good, otherwise I do recommend a controller designed for use with... view full answer...
The 12V power circuit on a motor home's 7-Way socket, which is typically protected with a 40-amp circuit breaker like # PK54540, will deliver a maintenance level charge to a connected battery on either a towed vehicle or trailer. However, a depleted battery will NOT get a full charging current from this auxiliary 12V feed and will not fully re-charge. An A/C shore-power charger like the CTEK # CTEK56865 can re-charge a depleted battery.
Some vehicles when flat towed will need to have their... view full answer...
